Stoking the Passion for Service
“Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? You are a Child of God. Your ‘playing small’ does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson
Serving others is a reward in itself. This is something we often forget as we tackle the myriad of challenges in our daily lives: traffic congestion, high cost of living, lack of job opportunities and the relentless demand for a more materialistic lifestyle.
At heart, CHC is passionate in serving the needs of all beings of this Earth and beyond, but experience and expertise inevitably led to serving Children and Communities. Basic social services such as free education, healthcare, maternal care, livelihood, protection against violence and discrimination (especially those from indigenous communities), support in times of disaster – these are just some of the unmet necessities of the majority of our fellow Filipinos each day. The situation is complex and the challenges multifaceted, it is important to do what we can and work together.
CHC collaborates with organizations (local and international) through Consultancies or Volunteer work with particular focus on Participatory Research, Community Organizing, Community Education, Early Childhood Care and Development, Family Care and Development, Children’s Rights, Emergency Education, Monitoring and Evaluation, Documentation, Creative Advocacies, Project Coordination and Management.
